M.P. ED. COURSE (Course Code: MPD, Subject Code: 806) (As per NCTE norm)

I. Eligibility Criteria:
a. Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P. Ed.) Or Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P. E.) or Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) in Health and Physical Education and degree in sports with at least 55 % marks.
b. Reservation of seats and relaxation in qualifying marks for OBC/SC/ST and other categories of candidates shall be made as per Govt. of India rules.

Note: There shall be no provision for direct admission/internal quota and reservation for physically handicapped candidates. Deaf and dumb and vision impaired candidates will not be considered for admission.

II. Important date, time and venue of admission test (tentative)
1. Venue of all events: Department of Physical Education, Physical Education Complex, Vinaya Bhavana, Santiniketan
2. Reporting Date & Time: 14.07.2012 at 06:00 Hrs.
3. Entrance Test: 14.07.2012 at 08:00 Hrs & 15.07.2012 at 06:30 Hrs.

III. Modalities of Admission:
Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test with due weightage for physical fitness /other proficiency.
1. Admission will be made in order of merit on the basis of entrance test
2. Rankings in entrance test will be made out of 100 marks
3. Minimum qualifying marks in the entrance test will qualify a candidate to be included in the ranking of the scores.
4. Distribution of marks in entrance test (100 marks) will be made on the basis of:

A. (Physical Fitness tests – 40 marks (candidates to appear at their own responsibility and in sports attires)
B. Written Test – 40 marks
C. Academics – 10 marks
D. Sports Achievements – 10 marks

5. Current medical fitness certificate will have to be submitted for appearing in physical fitness tests.
6. At the time of admission test, the candidate must submit the NCTE recognition certificate of B. P. Ed degree from the Head/Principal of the Institution.

IV. Admission Procedure:
A. Physical Fitness Test: (40 marks)
Test Items: (a) 50mts Dash, (b) Standing Broad Jump (c) 4 X 10 mts Shuttle Run and (d) 600 mts Run.

B. Written Test (in English): 40 marks Objective Tests at B. P. Ed. Level
C. Academics: 10 marks.
(a) Percentage of marks obtained in Graduation will be converted out of 05 marks.
(b) Percentage of marks obtained at B. P. Ed. level will be converted out of 05 marks.

D.Sports Achievements – 10 marks
For representing the Nation: 10 marks
For representing the State: 07 marks
For representing the University: 05 marks
For representing the District: 03 marks

Note:
i) Only Highest representation will be considered for awarding marks.
ii) Sports performance during preceding five years (including current year) will be considered.

V. Reservation:
Reservation for OBC, SC & ST candidates will be made as per Government of India rules. Physically handicapped candidates of all categories will not be considered for admission. There shall be no provision for direct admission/internal quota.

Submission of Application Forms:
Completed Application Forms for all courses under Vinaya Bhavana should be submitted to the
Adhyaksha (Principal) within the stipulated date.
