COMPUTER CENTRE
The Visva-Bharati Computer Centre is a central computing facility catering to the requirements of students, teachers and staff of Visva-Bharati. The Centre acts as the hub for all computer related activities through a campus-wide gigabit optic fibre network connecting 65 VLANs covering nearly all the departments. With the commissioning of the 1Gbps NKN link in February 2011 the university is poised to avail all the services offered by NKN like the countrywide virtual classroom, etc. At present there are over 800 network access points across the campus. The Computer Centre remains open from 9.30 AM to 6.00 PM . Services available to users at the Computer Centre include access to the Internet on 56 desktops. Besides offering short-term courses for students, staff and faculty members, the Centre also conducts computer literacy programmes for the residents of neighbouring villages. The Centre also maintains the website of the University and offers institutional e-mail facility to the University community. |
