B.A. / B.Sc. (Honours) in Physical Education (Course code: BAP/BSP, Subject Code: 803/804)

I. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Passed Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination (under10+2 pattern) with at least 45% marks for general candidates, and 40.5% marks for OBC candidates and pass marks for SC/ST candidates in aggregate from any recognized Council/Board/University.
Age: 17 to 22 years. It may be relaxed up to 24 years in case of National/International level Sportspersons. In case of SC/ST candidates, relaxation of age may be extended up to 5 years inclusive or exclusive of participation level

II. Important dates, time and venue of admission test (tentative)
1. Venue for all Events: Department of Physical Education, Physical Education Complex,
Vinaya-Bhavana, Santiniketan.
2. Reporting date and time: 23.06.2012 at 06-30 Hrs.
3. Entrance Test: 23.06.2012 at 08-00 Hrs. and 24.06.2012 at 06-30 Hrs.

III. Modalities of admission:
1. Admission will be made in order of merit on the basis of marks obtained in admission test.
2. Rankings in admission test will be made on the basis of marks obtained out of 100 marks.
3. Minimum qualifying marks i,e 35% obtained in the admission test will qualify a candidate to be included in the ranking of the scores.
4. Distribution of marks in admission test (maximum 100 marks) will be made on the basis of:

(A) Performance tests (candidates to appear at their own responsibility and in sports attires): 60 Marks
(i) Physical fitness (40 Marks); (ii) Motor skill test (20 Marks)
(B) Written test (20 Marks)
(C) Academics (10 Marks)
(D) Sports Achievements (10 Marks)

5. Current medical fitness certificates will have to be submitted for appearing in physical
performance tests.

IV. Admission Procedure
A. Performance Test: 60 marks
(i) Physical Fitness Test: (40 marks)

Test Items:
(a) 50mts Dash (b) Standing Broad Jump (c) 4 X 10mts Shuttle Run and (d) 600mts Run.
(ii) Motor Skill events (one to be opted): (20 marks) Athletics/Basketball/Cricket/Football/Table- Tennis/Gymnastics/Volleyball/Badminton/Khokho/Kabaddi/Tennis/Weightlifting/ Hockey

B. Written Test (in English): 20 marks
(i) Comprehension test / Paragraph writing.
(ii) Objective Tests related to General Knowledge on Games and Sports.

C. Academics: 10 marks
Percentage of marks obtained in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination will be converted out of 10.

D. Sports achievements: 10 Marks
For representing the Nation : 10 marks
For representing the State : 05 marks
First position in National Tournament : 08 marks
Second position in National Tournament : 07 marks
Third position in National Tournament : 06 marks
For representing District: 03 marks
For representing School District/ School Region: 02 marks


Note: Only Highest representation will be considered for awarding marks.

V. Reservation:
Reservation for OBC, SC & ST candidates will be made as per Government of India rules. Physically handicapped candidates of all categories will not be considered for admission.
