Research areas of interest:
• Mechanical processing of Textiles (Yarn manufacturing, Fabric manufacturing and designing) 
• Diversification of Handloom products; 
• Optimization of process parameters using DOE and RSM, MCDM techniques

• Fabricated a low cost “Fabric Stiffness Tester” in the academic year 2001–2002. • Development of suitable Charka (Winding machine) for Handloom Industry. 
• Present status of Co-operative societies of Murshidabad Silk Industry. 
• A Comparative study in the properties between Handloom and Powerloom fabric. 
• Effect of weave on some mechanical properties of fabrics 
• Effect of weave on some mechanical properties of Hand woven cotton fabrics 
• Manufacturing of Tarpaulin cloth in Handloom and its comparison with powerloom counterpart. 
• Manufacturing of Jute-Cotton Leno structure in Handloom - An approach towards product diversification. 
• Design development of Handloom union fabrics for apparels using tassar as weft. 
• Manufacturing of Textile-Paper composites for Packaging – An approach towards Handloom product diversification. 
• Study of thermal behavior of some specialty fabrics manufactured in Handloom.

Administrative Experience:
• Worked as Teacher in charge, Textile section from 29.07.2007 to 28.07.2010 
• Worked as Teacher in charge, Physical Education unit, PSV, for last ten years.

• Presented a paper entitled “Handlooms and Natural Dyes” in the National Conference on Traditional Knowledge System of India, held on 9th – 11th January, 2004, and organized by IIT, Kharagpur. The paper has also been published in the Book of Papers and e–Proceedings.
• Paper entitled “CAD/CAM Technology ––––––– A Cutting-Edge Tool Revolutionizing Textile Designing & Manufacturing; Part–I: CAD/CAM Module for Dobby Industry” presented jointly in the National Conference on Emerging Trends in Textile, Fibre & Apparel Engineering held on March 18–19, 2006, organized by Govt. College of Engg. & Textile Tech. (GCETT), Berhampore. The paper published in the Book of Papers and e-Proceedings. 
• Paper entitled “Effect of Weave on Some Mechanical Properties of Hand-woven Cotton Fabrics” presented jointly in the National Conference on Emerging Trends in Textile, Fibre & Apparel Engineering held on March 18–19, 2006, organized by Govt. College of Engg. & Textile Tech. (GCETT), Berhampore. The paper published in the Book of Papers and e-Proceedings. 
• Paper entitled “Development of Textile-Handmade paper composites for Packaging--- An attempt to boost Craft Sector, presented in the Seminar of Refresher course on “Fine Arts and Crafts” organized by UGC Academic Staff College, CU and published in the Book of papers “Rejuvenescence”, published by UGC Academic Staff College, CU; pp 114 (2011). 
• Paper entitled “Scope of application of Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) technique for selection of vegetable dye”, presented in the National Workshop and Seminar on Vegetable dye and its application on textiles’ held on Dec. 2 – 4, 2011 at Silpa-Sadana, Visva-Bharati. The paper published e-Proceedings.
