In keeping with Rabindranath Tagore’s motto ‘yatra visvambhabatyeekanidam’, Visva-Bharati opened the Centre for Comparative Literature in 2013. At present, the Centre offers MA, M.Phil and Ph.D. courses in Comparative Literature. The major thrust areas of the Centre are Literatures of India, Translation Studies, Gender Studies, Literatures of Latin America, and African Literature.
